***50% marks in graduation or post-graduation degree shall not apply for persons appointed as teachers prior to the commencement of the National Council for Teacher Education (Regulations, Norms and Procedure) second Amendment Regulation 2010.
In order to be considered under the deputed category the teachers from Secondary/ Higher Secondary schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E./ W.B.C.H.S.E. must produce a copy of the appointment letter from the District Inspector of Schools and a No Objection Certificate from the Managing Committee of the school duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools (The Managing Committee must clearly certify whether or not the teacher teaches in class IX, X, XI and XII), at the time of interview and admission. Jadavpur University will not take the responsibility of disbursement ofdeputation allowance.
**Candidates who have passed his/her last examination through a distance learning mode have to sit for a written qualifying test to be eligible for admission.
#Only the current students of Jadavpur University who have appeared in M.A/M.Sc 4th semester (second year second semester) examination 2014 securing at least 40% marks in each course and at least 50%(40% for SC/ST and 45% for PD) marks in the aggregate of all marks obtained in 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester examinations are also eligible. For such candidates the percentage of marks (in case of grade, the mid value of the corresponding range should be inputed for marks) obtained in the aggregate of 1st, 2nd and 3rd semesters examinations will be considered for preparing the merit list. Therefore, they should input the total marks of three(3) semester examinations of M.A/M.Sc course. Their provisional admission will be liable to be cancelled if they fail to secure at least 50% (40% for SC/ST and 45% for PD students) marks in the aggregate in M.A/M.Sc final examination 2014.

The available method subjects are Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Mathematics, Physical Science, Work Education and Education.

Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the University shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the University to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in University hostel or on University campus.
If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the Authority would expel him/her from the University.


Selection Procedure For B.Ed Course

Fresher Candidates will be selected in order of merit calculated on the basis of the following score:
For Secondary or equivalent % of marks x 0.1
For Higher Secondary or equivalent % of marks** x 0.1
**Total Marks will be calculated in the on the basis of:
1. W.B.C.H.S.E.: Best of 5 subjects excluding marks of Environmental Studies/Environmental Education (out of 500 marks)
2. Central Board of Secondary Education: Best of 5 subjects (out of 500 marks)
3. Council for the Indian School Certificate: Best of 4 subjects (out of 400 marks)
4. Other Boards: aggregate of all marks obtained
For Honours Graduates (On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained in Honours paper only) % of marks x 0.3
For Pass Graduates (On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained) % of marks x 0.1
For Special Honours Graduates (On the basis of aggregate of all marks obtained in Special Honours paper only) % of marks x 0.2
For Post Graduate % of marks x 0.3
For M.Phil degree 3 marks
For Ph.D degree 5 marks

Selection of teachers under Deputed category will be made on the basis of number of years of uninterrupted approved service in Govermentt or Goverment aided schools (calculated as on 30.06.2014).
As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal.
