Job Description:

-The individual filling this role will provide remote support for VeriFone’s Mission Critical systems including UNIX, Linux, VMware, and Storage Area Network. This position will provide second and third level administration and support for software, equipment, and resources administered and maintained by VeriFone IT Operations.

-The requirements are to maintain and manage all aspects of VeriFone’s UNIX, Linux, VMware, and SAN mission critical environment including: Securing the environment; Monitoring system performance; Tuning system parameters; Overseeing backups; Supporting many of their applications and databases (i.e. BroadVision, Clarify, and Oracle);
-Maintain and adhere to proper change management processes; Design, implement, and maintain a high availability environment for VeriFone mission critical systems; Maintain all UNIX system’s build and design basis documentation; Team lead for future projects. Flexibility and willingness to work off-hours and weekends for special projects.

-Expert level skills and knowledge in: HP DataProtector; HP MC/Service Guard; HP PA-RISC/Itanium systems including; Veritas Logical Volume Manager; Oracle technologies; Common Unix Web/Linux application servers and OS: Apache, Oracle IAS; Weblogic, Linux RedHat 3.x, 4.x,; NIS; DNS; TCP/IP Network; NFS; EMC Storage Systems.

Educational and experience
-Bachelors of Science in related field, 6+ years of direct experience in this environment.
-Technical certifications such as Advanced IT Professional, HP MC/SG, EMC proven professional, and Linux RedHat Certified are a plus.
